PAPER CAKE TRAIL

Hello my friends, Happy Valentine's Day to all .  I 'm curious as to what hubby has in store more me.....Flowers....Chocolate... Dinner. anyway.... today's card was made for this weeks challenges over at the Mojo Monday & Play Date Cafe blogspots. I used a variety of patterns, which I love to do, along with a little punch art, washi tape, lace trim, bakers twine and other toppings for this adorable Easter card.  Have a great day friends! Today's card was inspired by the beautiful inspiration photo over at The Friday MashUp. I began on a Bashful Blue cardstock base and inked the edges with Marina Mist.  With another piece of Bashful paper, I ran a snowflake embossing folder through my Big Shot and mounted it at an angle on the card face, then added a paper doily to the center of the card.  I die cut a triangle using Blue patterned paper for my tree, and affixed the tree at an angle on the right side of the card.  The star was punched out using Silver glitter paper and placed on top of the tree.  A short strip of textured Brown cardstock was added below the tree and a Silver brad was anchored through the center of the tree.  'Joy' was stamped using Blue ink onto a White tag and added across the bottom half of the card.  A Blue button was added on the bottom right corner of the tag.  A cut textured Blue banner   was stamped 'Christmas' using Blue ink, and attached ac...

Today's card was inspired by the colour challenge over at Sunday Stamps. Begin by painting the edges of a Bashful Blue cardstock base.  Mount a Whisper White mat onto a Red/White patterned paper mat, zigzag stitch, distress and ink the edges.  Add a sentiment and lace to the bottom half of the card.  Stamp an image onto some Whisper White, ink the edges Blue and mount it slightly to the right of the card.  To this attach a Red button, Blue seam binding and a felt holly. 2 more days my friends...yes 2, until I hop on a plane to EUROPE.  This is a dream holiday for me and I'm super pumped. Here is today's card using the color scheme over at the colourq blog. I began on a piece of Whisper White.  I scrounged around for a strip of Bashful Blue patterned paper and some Night of Navy patterned paper.   I inked the edges with some Crumb Cake ink, then used it to stamp my petal.  I stamped the floral image onto some Bashful Blue using Night of Navy ink, cut, shaded and raised them on dimensionals before adhering to the paper mat.  I finished it off with a sentiment using Rich Razzleberry ink and added some pearls to the flowers. These are my entries for the retro sketches challenge. I began my creation with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.  I layered it with a piece of patterned paper I picked up from Michaels.  The image was stamped on Very Vanilla, using my markers in Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Old Olive.  This is finished off with a scalloped ribbon border in Crumb Cake, and Pink rhinestones.  This card has been created on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. A handmade purple embossed paper mat has been attached to the card base. On this, I have added a textured pink dotted scallop ribbon border, along with a gorgeous vintage, shabby style illustration. Its a beautiful Sunday morning.  I woke up, had a cup of coffee, sat down at my desk, and looked out my office window at the beautifully calm Okanagan Lake .     That my friends, is how I find all of my inspiration. My card today is for the Friday Mashup challenge.  I chose to try the faux mother of pearl technique.  I found many tutuorials on you tube showing this technique.  I began my creation with a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Bashful Blue cardstock.  I then ran a piece of the same cardstock through my bigshot, using the tulip border embossing folder.  The designer patterned paper is from Recollections.  The stamped image was created using the lovely Asian Artistry stamp set.  I colored directly onto the stamp using my markers in Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist & London Fog.  Thank you for stopping by! This is my entry for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.  I started off with a Very Vanilla card base, which is layered with some Crumb Cake followed by some Bashful Blue script patterned paper with stitching (all from Stampin' Up!).  Next, I added some cream color lace, a piece of burlap, a sweet Love Bird illustration, Pink tulle flower, White pearl pin, and some clear color rhinestones. This is my entry for the Colourq challenge. All items are Stampin' Up! I started with some textured Sahara cardstock.  I layered a piece of Night of Navy cardstock onto the base, followed by a panel of Whisper White that was embossed using the Stripes impressions embossing folder, a patterned piece Bash Blue for the lower panel, 3 petal print outs with mats, some Mellow Moss ribbon and rhinetones for that perfect touch.
