PAPER CAKE TRAIL

Its a beautiful Sunday morning.  I woke up, had a cup of coffee, sat down at my desk, and looked out my office window at the beautifully calm Okanagan Lake .     That my friends, is how I find all of my inspiration. My card today is for the Friday Mashup challenge.  I chose to try the faux mother of pearl technique.  I found many tutuorials on you tube showing this technique.  I began my creation with a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Bashful Blue cardstock.  I then ran a piece of the same cardstock through my bigshot, using the tulip border embossing folder.  The designer patterned paper is from Recollections.  The stamped image was created using the lovely Asian Artistry stamp set.  I colored directly onto the stamp using my markers in Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist & London Fog.  Thank you for stopping by! This is my entry for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Now that I have found this stamp set, I can't seem to put it down.  I just love how it coordinates with this Recollections patterned paper. I began with a Bashful card base, followed by a Polka Dot embossed piece of Bashful Blue.  As mentioned above the patterned paper is from the Recollection line.  The stamp is 'Asian Artistry' from Stampin' Up!.  I used my markers in Pear Pizazz and Marina Mist. This is my entry for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I pulled out and dusted off a stamp set that I had forgotten about.   Asian Artisty from Stampin' Up!, is just beautiful.  I began with a Blue linen textured cardstock base, followed by Going Gray and 2 different designs of patterned paper from Recollections.   I stamped my images onto Whisper White, using Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist and Going Gray markers.  For the finishing touches I used some lace, ribbon, glitter and rhinestones.
