Mixed Media and a Sympathy Card

Today's card was made using this week's Card Concept  and Less is More challenges.  I decided to use the Clean & Simple approach for the Card Concept style. To create my card I began by spreading water around on a few areas of the paper.  I then took some Lime Green and Aqua ink and let it spread about.  Once dry I used my new stamp set from Ranger and a sympathy sentiment. Paint spatter was then used to finish it off. 2 Challenges and a Sweet Butterfly Card

Today's card was made using this week's Friday Mash Up and ColourQ challenges.   I also used the sketch from last week's Pal Paper Arts. I used my watercolour stamp to make the back ground, along with the pretty stamp set Papillon Potpourri.

Sunday Stamps Sketch and ~ Happy Day ~

Today's card was made using this week's  Sunday Stamps (actually it runs for 2 weeks) sketch challenge. Although this sketch appears like an easy one, sometimes these are the hardest for me.  I get lost with all that white space.   However, I bought a new stamp set from Stampenous and this daisy bunch works perfectly for a sketch like this. I used Whisper White and Melon Mambo cardstock, along with my Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Crumb Cake Blendabilties.  I topped it off with a fitting sentiment and Turquoise buttons. Fusion ~ Red, White & Blue ~

Today's card was made using this week's Fusion challenge.   I don't have any poppy stamps so I used the next best thing.  I just received my order of blendabilities too, so thought I would dive into those.  I chose only to use the photo for inspiration this time.  I do have a project below as well using the photo as inspiration. Thanks for dropping!  Please feel free to leave a comment. =)  If you have any questions regarding Stampin’ Up! products, please visit my SU! 24/7 Online Store , or send me am email at papercaketrail@gmail.com.

Field of Poppies

Today's mixed media canvas was made using this weeks Fusion challenge. How I made my canvas: ~ Gesso canvas. ~ Scribble 3 different hues of Blue gelatos onto canvas.  Take a paint brush, spritz some water to activate and brush to desired colour. ~ On the bottom use some green paint and water turn upside down to create drips that will dictate where the poppies will go. ~ From there I used Red paint, Liquitex ink, a Red Gelato and my finger to create the poppies. ~ Use green paint in a different hue from the drips to paint your stems and leaves. ~ Take a Black and Green oil pastel to shade the grass, stems and leaves. ~ Punch out 3 butterflies.  Adhere with gel medium.  Colour in with a Gold coloured Gelato the shade with a Black India Ink pen.   ~ Add White clouds using White paint and a White Gelato. ~ Doddle around the poppies. Thanks for stopping by!

Twon Challenges and ~ Oh Happy Day ~

Today's card was made using this week's Colour Combination and Clean and Simple over at SCS. This week's CAS featured stamper is k dunbrook.  I chose to CAS this card...  and the color challenge colours.... I began by making a vase stencil using my ornament punch. To create the vase I simply placed it above the sentiment and inked it. to this I added a stamped stem and leaf punched. I used a stamp from the Flower Fest set & coloured it with my Daffodil Delight blendabilities (still trying to get the hang of colouring with alcohol markers).  I then added the mat onto some patterned paper and aWhite cardstock base.    Thanks for dropping!  Please feel free to leave a comment. =)   If you have any questions regarding Stampin’ Up! products, please visit my SU! 24/7 Online Store , or send me am email at papercaketrail@gmail.com

Tuesday Morning Sketches #256 ~ For You ~

Today's card was made using this weeks Tuesday Morning Sketches . I began with a So Saffron matte and layered some patterns from the Print Poetry collection.  I used my daisy die cut, Blossom Party die cut, Scallop punch and leaves punch to create my layered flower.   I finished it all off with a ~ For You ~ sentiment,  3 clear rhinestones and adhered it to a White paper base. Thanks for dropping!  Please feel free to leave a comment. =)   If you have any questions regarding Stampin’ Up! products, please visit my SU! 24/7 Online Store , or send me am email at papercaketrail@gmail.com
