colourQ challenge #139...

2 more days my friends...yes 2, until I hop on a plane to EUROPE.  This is a dream holiday for me and I'm super pumped. Here is today's card using the color scheme over at the colourq blog. I began on a piece of Whisper White.  I scrounged around for a strip of Bashful Blue patterned paper and some Night of Navy patterned paper.   I inked the edges with some Crumb Cake ink, then used it to stamp my petal.  I stamped the floral image onto some Bashful Blue using Night of Navy ink, cut, shaded and raised them on dimensionals before adhering to the paper mat.  I finished it off with a sentiment using Rich Razzleberry ink and added some pearls to the flowers. Thank you for stopping by! Alyson

I got these embellishments from Websters pages and they are to die for. Thank you for stopping by! Alyson

Freshly Made Sketches #36

Oh my goodness, this was my first attempt at an MDS card.  It took me hours to figure out what the heck to do.  I don't find the tutorials too terribly helpful, there was very little on you tube.  But, I gained tons of knowledge with this I tell ya. This sketch is from the freshly made sketches blogspot.   I began on Crumb Cake, with a Whisper White layer.  I used a pattern from the Attic Bouquet paper set.  The brush stamp is from  Friends 24/7. I'm off to do some kickboxing.  Thanks for stopping by! Alyson

Ribbon Reel Spring Colors & Mojo Monday 241

Today I decided to make a card based on 2 challenges. The Ribbon Reel Challenge & Mojo Monday . I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot using the stripes embossing folder. I then shaded the edges with some Whisper White craft ink to give the edges a beautiful soft look.  I had a left over piece of polka dot Blushing Bride which have the edges inked aa weel and adhered that to my base.  The second layer is a piece from Melissa France, along with a piece of handmade lavender paper.  I took a cute little doily and stuck a Melissa Frances sticker onto the center and finished it all off with a greenish button and twine. SQSC 37

Good morning, friends!  I'm still fighting off this ridiculous cold.  I'm leaving for Europe soon, so, I guess it's better now than while I'm away.  Today the weather is gloomy, so off to the craft room I go! Today's card is inspired by the layout over at the Stampin Queens Sketch Challenge blog.  I have so many scraps of paper laying around and this was the perfect opportunity to use some of it.  I began with a Very Vanilla cardstock base.  The first layer is a piece of really pretty patterned paper, the second layer is also Very Vanilla.  For this layer I ran it through my Big Shot using a large polka dot embossing plate, then used my round scallop punch.  I inked the edges on this layer to give it a softer touch.  To finish this pretty card off, I added a paper butterfly with rhinestone, Pink buttons, a 'Thank You' sentiment and twine. Thank You for stopping by! Alyson
