PAPER CAKE TRAIL

This card entry is for 2 challenges.  The color challenge is from Color Throw Down & the sketch challenge is from retro sketches . I began my creation on a piece of Basic Grey cardstock.  The first layer is Regal Rose and the second layer is an embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The stamped images are from the Up, Up & Away stamp set, and are matted onto Kiwi Kiss.  I used Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss & Basic Black stamp pads.  The 'birthday wishes' sentiment is from the So Happy for You stamp set, that has been matted onto some Regal Rose patterened paper.   Here is the sketch and color combo:     Thank you for stopping by! This is my entry for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I began my creation an a piece of Regal Rose cardstock.  The first layer is Whisper White followed by some pretty patterned paper and more Regal Rose.  I stamped the image using the new 'Summer Smooches' stamp set.  I used my markers in Green Galore, Regal Rose and Basic Black. This is my entry for the SUO Challenges . I began my creation with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/5" piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  The first layer is Certainly Celery (4" x 5 1/4").  The second layer is Whisper White (3 3/4" x 5")  that has been textured with an embossing folder.  The image comes from the 'Easter Blossoms' stamp set.  I used my markers in Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.  This mats was then set onto a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock.  The flowers were coloured using Melon Mambo & come from the 'Punch Potpourri' stamp set . Today I am entering my card in two different challenges.  I always like to pick a color challenge with a sketch challenge. I chose the color combo from  Colour Q #130 and the sketch from  Just-Add-Ink . I love this new stamp set Summer Smooches, that will be available April 01-30.  It's super cute a quite versatile. I began my creation a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  The first layer is Certainly Celery and measures 4" x 5 1/4".  The second layer is an embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock and measures 3 3/4" x 5".  I stamped the tulips using Melon Mambo, and the other image using Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery and Daffodil delight.    This is my entry for the  Mojo Monday   sketch challenge. I began my creation on a 5" x 5" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.  The middle Burgandy panel measures  1 3/4" x 4 3/4", the 2 outer panels measure 1 3/8" x 4 3/4".  I stamped the sandpaper background using Antique Linen ink and the sentiment using Blue Jeans ink on Very Vanilla cardstock (4" x 2 3/4").  For the finishing touches, I used Always Artichoke seam binding and Pink organza ribbon, followed with a cupcake sticker. After I had posted this card, I realized I had forgotten to add in a few of the items below.  I used the stamp set 'Field Flowers" from Stampin' Up!.  The lace and rhinestone came from my local craft store. This is my entry for the Friday Mashup! challenge. This weeks challenge was the paper quilting technique, and I have never before done this.  I have to say that it can take quite sometime depending on how elaborate you want to get. I began my creation with a piece of Cream color cardstock.  I then layered it with some Brown, a Cream color lace border mat, followed my my quilted pattern.  I have finished this card off with a Tinkerbell adhesive as well as a botanical flower and butterfly. This is my entry for the Unscripted Sketches #150 challenge . I began my creation with a piece of Pool Party cardstock.  I then layered it with a piece of designer series paper called Spiced Cake.  I stamped my sentiment on Very Vanilla cardstock using my markers in Pear Pizzaz and Soft Suede, then layered that on Pool Party.   I finished this card off with some Pool Party seam binding, tinkit pin & a clear rhinestone. These are my entries for the retro sketches challenge. I began my creation with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.  I layered it with a piece of patterned paper I picked up from Michaels.  The image was stamped on Very Vanilla, using my markers in Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Old Olive.  This is finished off with a scalloped ribbon border in Crumb Cake, and Pink rhinestones.  This card has been created on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. A handmade purple embossed paper mat has been attached to the card base. On this, I have added a textured pink dotted scallop ribbon border, along with a gorgeous vintage, shabby style illustration. This is my entry for the Pals Paper Arts  sketch challenge. I began my creation with a piece of Mellow Moss cardstock, followed by 2 beautiful pieces of patterned paper cardstock from MME.  I stamped my image (wings of friendship) on Whisper White cardstock using my markers in Marina Mist, Pear Pizazz and Lavender Lace.  I finished off my card with Lilac seam binding and a pretty Purple rhinestone. This is my entry for the Ribbon Reel challenge. I began my creation with a piece of Soft Suede cardstock.  I sifted through my scraps and found some textured Kraft and patterned paper by K&Company.  The illustration is printed and the anchor image is from the Open Sea stamp set.  I finished off this card with, brads, twine, a black pearl and mini safety pin. Its a beautiful Sunday morning.  I woke up, had a cup of coffee, sat down at my desk, and looked out my office window at the beautifully calm Okanagan Lake .     That my friends, is how I find all of my inspiration. My card today is for the Friday Mashup challenge.  I chose to try the faux mother of pearl technique.  I found many tutuorials on you tube showing this technique.  I began my creation with a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Bashful Blue cardstock.  I then ran a piece of the same cardstock through my bigshot, using the tulip border embossing folder.  The designer patterned paper is from Recollections.  The stamped image was created using the lovely Asian Artistry stamp set.  I colored directly onto the stamp using my markers in Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist & London Fog.  Thank you for stopping by! This is my entry for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Now that I have found this stamp set, I can't seem to put it down.  I just love how it coordinates with this Recollections patterned paper. I began with a Bashful card base, followed by a Polka Dot embossed piece of Bashful Blue.  As mentioned above the patterned paper is from the Recollection line.  The stamp is 'Asian Artistry' from Stampin' Up!.  I used my markers in Pear Pizazz and Marina Mist.
