Dynamic Duos 94 ~ Black Tie Week ~

I actually made two card using this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.  This week they are looking for projects using Black and More Mustard with the dessert option of dry embossing.

My first card uses the Whitewash Technique.  I stamped my image using versamark and white embossing powder.  Once heat set, I used White ink to achieve the washed look followed by a little More Mustard ink in the centers.  I stamped the butterfly onto the Kraft paper, then stamped it onto vellum using versamark, followed by Black embossing powder.  Image was trimmed and raised up on pop dots for a 3D look.

My second card using the tulip border embossing folder, flower pot die cut and circle punches.

  1. Both cards are lovely--I am so happy to see flowers and other growing things (instead of the s*** which is still outside...). The whitewash technique is a great way to soften the intense colour of the mustard ink. I think that card is my fave although the plant pot is cute, too! Thanks for playing along with the Dynamic Duos this week!

Gold Star

This is my entry for the Mojo Monday challlenge.  This has been a very busy week, with working 2 jobs, weight training, and writing a final exam, I have had very little time to relax and craft.  I was unable to come up with my own idea and cased this card from Teresa Kline/Paperie Blooms .  Now that I am done my course I have a little more free time. Until next time.

Summer Smooches

Today I am entering my card in two different challenges.  I always like to pick a color challenge with a sketch challenge. I chose the color combo from  Colour Q #130 and the sketch from  Just-Add-Ink . I love this new stamp set Summer Smooches, that will be available April 01-30.  It's super cute a quite versatile. I began my creation a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  The first layer is Certainly Celery and measures 4" x 5 1/4".  The second layer is an embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock and measures 3 3/4" x 5".  I stamped the tulips using Melon Mambo, and the other image using Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery and Daffodil delight. Here are the sketch and colors:

CASE Study Challenge #133 & Happy Birthday

For this weeks CASE study challenge, I used a variety of papers and embellishments.  Michaels was having a 30% off sale on many of their stickers, so a bought a pile and used some in this card.   I used many layers of paper with a variety of patterns along with die cuts & embellishments from Martha Stewart to Stampin' Up! and Creative Memories. Happy Sunday! Alyson
